Polynesian Cultural Center Luau

When we arrived at the Polynesian Cultural Center the first event we saw was each of the island representatives floating down the river that runs the entire length of the park. Each group sang and danced in their traditional costumes and languages. The group from Samoa rocked the boat so much that they knocked their "driver" off his perch and he fell into the murky water......eeeeuuuuwwwww!

After the river show, we went to the IMAX theater to watch a film about the coral reef. We then headed to the Tonga village to throw spears. None of us hit the target......I guess we need a bit more practice. We walked around the various villages on the 40 + acers park. We attended a Luau and received real orchid lays and drank strawberry smoothies (okay, the guys didn't dring the strawberry ones....they don't like them, but Tasha and I shared one). We ate really good food (except for the poi....). Lots of really nice people and great dancing. The little kids were the cutest! At one point they asked for all the couples who were having an anniversary this month to come up to the stage for a dance. For those of you who know Eric well, he is not Mr. Rhythm and doesn't prefer to dance, but he took me up there anyway........aahhhwwww.

Our host is the one with the Ukulele. He was quite entertaining and did impressions of Elvis, Louis B. Armstrong, and Tiny Tim. He also played it with his teeth...........talented, huh!?

This is the king of Hawaii and his court.
