New House in Germany

Here are the long awaited pictures of our house here in Germany!
Our house is in Weltersbach. It is very close to (almost connected to) a village called Steinvenden. It is about 5-10 minutes from Ramstein AB. We have been in the house since 19 January (Eric's birthday). We are still living with loaner funiture from the base. We are supposed to get our shipment from the states sometime in March. The shipment has our couch and loveseat, Jordan's bed, our table and chairs, china hutch and various other items that we can't wait to get back. Also, we ordered a TV stand from Belgium that should be delivered in a week or so. Once that happens, we will put things up on the walls, purchase carpets and get it fixed up a bit more. We really like the house and we especially like our landlords. They are really nice and friendly. We spend a lot of time going to the bakery and there is a wonderful italian restaurant. We have no yard, but that steep hill in the front of our house is our responsibility to keep clear, as well as the sidewalk. The next time it snows really well, I will take a picture of the area. It is absolutely beautiful! We live in a rural area. Sheep and horses are right down the road. At night we can smell the wood from a fireplace burning. Right across the street from us is an old mill that is being renovated to remain historically accuate. Early Saturday mornings you can see little old ladies with their baskets in hand and scarfs around their heads, heading to the butcher and the baker to purchase their weekly necessities. In the morning and late evening we hear the bells from the local church ringing. We love it!

This is the front of our house and our new van:)

This is our van and space where we can park our car.

These are our storage areas. There are two because the house used to be 2 separate appartments.

This is one of two garages.

Here is our entry way. Right now we use it mostly for a workout area. I plan to add plants and a place where guests can take off their shoes and hang up their coats and hats.

Here is the veiw from our tredmill.

This is the kitchen and homework area. This is quite possibly the largest kitchen we have ever had in any home we've lived in.

The plan is to eventually purchase a taller table to go in place of the one that is there now. Also, we are looking for a iron pot holder that hangs from the ceiling.

Hello from the homework area!

The cabinet on the very far right of the picture is a small refrigerator and freezer that the Germans call the "daily fridge".

This is the guest bathroom and the one that Jordan uses.

The guest bathroom (unfortunately) is also the one that has the washing machine and dryer.

Jordan's bedroom.

The living room. Notice how the flooring is different midway through the room? It used to be 2 separate appartments.

The veiw from the other side of the room.

Tasha's bedroom.

Here is our bedroom (still a bit messy).

The other side of our bedroom. It's very large! It used to be the kitchen for the other appartment.

Our bathroom shared with Tasha .

Beautiful house! You guys were so smart to get a house off base where you can experience the culture. It looks like you live in a neat area. We miss you guys!
